Located to the far north west of Singapore, District 24 comprises areas like Lim Chu Kang that has the prominent reservoir of Tengah apart from many others. Being on the outskirts, the district is quite deserted except for farms, camping sites, forest and nature reserves and burial grounds. Lim Chu Kang formerly known as Ama Keng Village witnessed severe bloodbath during the Second World War, as thousands of Singaporeans fought to defend their land from the invading Japanese soldiers. To this day a highly guarded military base is located here with a plaque that commemorates the historic battles and soldiers. Over the last three decades, with HDB estates, schools and public transport networks being developed, District 24 is growing in popularity. Residents enjoy many avenues of entertainment with shopping centres like Lot One, Junction 10, Yew Tee Square and Yew Tew Point. Sports complexes like Choa Chu Kang Stadium and Choa Chu Kang Swimming Complex apart from parks like the Tembusu Park ensure the locals enjoy a fit, active and healthy lifestyle. Lim Chu Kang is accessible via bus service originating from Boon Lay Bus Interchange. District 24 is largely untouched, hence offering a lot of scope for real estate development in the years to come.
